Dr. Muhammad Hussnain Sethi is the Assistant Professor and Head of the School of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture at GIFT University. He is the first Pakistani and among the few in the world to have a doctorate in fashion design. He won Chinese Government Scholarship and earned his Ph.D. in fashion design from Jiangnan University, China. During his Ph.D., he published seven research articles in internationally recognized journals. He also participated in many fashion design competitions, exhibitions, and fashion shows in China. Dr. Muhammad Hussnain Sethi organized several fashion design events at the Fashion Design and Branding Studio of School of Design at Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, from 2017 to 2021. Earlier, he got his Master’s degree in fashion design from Wuhan Textile University, China. He was offered a Master’s degree scholarship from Wuhan Textile University because of his impressive undergraduate thesis at National Textile University Faisalabad in 2014. He proposed a new concept for military camouflage clothing based on owl skin patterns. After completing his Master’s degree, he returned to Pakistan for one year and joined National Textile University, Pakistan as a Lecturer and Program Coordinator of the Fashion Design Department. Five fashion design students won the “Excellent Final Year Project Award” under his supervision in 2017.
