SFADA - From Vision to Design, Transforming Tomorrow

At SFADA, creativity isn't just something we teach: it's something we live every day. As part of GIFT University, the School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture (SFADA) brings together design thinking, ethics, and hands-on learning to shape artists and Designers who arenʼt just skilled in their craft, but also committed to making a social and cultural impact. For over 20 years, SFADA has been at the heart of creative education in the region.

We've helped shape generations of Designers, and Artists, each with a passion for pushing boundaries and reimagining the world around them. As a key academic pillar of GIFT University, SFADA reflects the university’s broader mission: Converting Knowledge into Practical experience.

Our teaching approach is grounded in real-world experience. We believe students learn best when they're not just absorbing theory, but actively applying it, working directly with communities, industries, and cultures. Currently, SFADA offers two flagship programs: Textile and Fashion Design and Graphic Design. Each is designed to strike a balance between tradition and innovation blending classical techniques with contemporary trends to create a rich and challenging learning environment. What sets SFADA apart is our focus on ethical, socially engaged creativity. We encourage our students to not only develop technical skills, but also to question assumptions, challenge the status quo, and imagine new possibilities. Our goal is to nurture individuals who care deeply about the world they’re designing for.

To support this journey, we offer state of the art studios and labs spaces that celebrate both the timelessness of craftsmanship and the possibilities of new technology. Sustainability, both ecological and environmental, is central to everything we do. It’s not just a topic we discuss; it's a value we live by. At SFADA, we believe that art and design are far more than academic subjects. They shape how we live, connect, and see the world. Whether it’s a building, a garment, a visual campaign, or a public space. Our students learn to tell stories that reflect identity, progress, and purpose.

Our graduates don’t just enter the creative industries they help redefine them. Through one on one mentorships with practicing professionals, involvement in real-world projects, and access to an environment that encourages critical thinking and entrepreneurship, our students are equipped to tackle the design challenges of today and tomorrow. With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, SFADA continues to be a driving force in shaping the cultural, social, and creative landscape of Pakistan and beyond. Together, we’re building a future where design isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about impact.

Dean's Message

Dr. Muhammad Hussnain Sethi

Dean (Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture)

Itʼs an honor to lead SFADA at a time when creative education is becoming central to shaping industries, culture, and society. Our goal is simple: to develop designers who think critically, work ethically, and create with purpose. At SFADA, we treat design as more than skill or style. Itʼs about solving real problems, asking tough questions, and making work that matters. Whether in Fashion, Textile, Graphic, Interior Design, or Home Economics, our students are encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and engage with both local and global contexts With strong academic leadership, growing international links, and a renewed focus on research, we are working to build a department that reflects both creative ambition and academic depth. Plans are also underway to expand our structure, introduce program-level leadership, and offer more specialized tracks. This is an exciting time for SFADA. If youʼre ready to design the future, weʼre ready to support you.
